H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine is advised for travellers to the Southern Hemisphere during their flu season. Please check with our travel nurses. More information can be found under the tab 'Clinics and Services' above.

Please remember that the Dispensary at Wendover Health Centre is open 6.30-8pm on Tuesday and 8.30am-10.30am on Saturday.

If you are a dispensing patient, please ask our dispensary staff about our repeat collection service.

Awarding Organistaions make no requirements for pupils to obtain a sick certificate or letter from a Doctor in support of an application for special consideration. See Clinics & Services - Non NHS Charges for further information.

Dr Anna Milward will be returning to Wendover Health Centre on Monday 9th August following maternity leave. She will be working Monday, Tuesday and alternate Thursday and Friday mornings.

Westongrove offer  patients the ability to book an appointment with a GP up to 4 weeks in advance. This means that you can book an appointment more than 2 days in ahead.  We are also making adjustments to the appointment system following patient feedback and will be adding an update regarding this in the very near future. Many thanks to all those who take the time to give us their opinion.

Westongrove also offer  appointments that can be booked for the next 48 hours for those patients who suddenly feel poorly. These appointments will be with the most appropriate member of our clinical team.

Children’s Health

We always try to see sick children as soon as possible, either here or at home, so please ring if you are at all worried about your child.

Bedgrove Surgery run a childrens surgery for patients registered at Bedgrove under the age of 16. This is for acute ailments, not for ongoing problems. Please register in person at reception by 8.50am and your child will be seen by a member of our clinical team as soon as possible during the morning surgery.

Baby Clinic
The health visitors run the Baby Clinics. No appointment is necessary and you are welcome to come for advice on anything to do with child care or to have your baby weighed. The clinics are held at:

  • Bedgrove Surgery on Monday from 2.00 - 4.00pm.
  • Aston Clinton Surgery on a Tuesday from 1.40 - 3.30pm.
  • Wendover Health Centre on Friday from 9.30 - 11.30am.

child immuniseChildrens’ Immunisations
You will normally be notified by the Local Authority. If you think your child may have missed any injections, please let us know. It is essential for them to be given all the relevant immunisations in order to ensure they are fully protected.

Child Development
Under-fives have their development checked periodically by the doctor or health visitor and you will automatically be sent an appointment.

Family Planning & Female Health
Our practice nurses and doctors will give advice on all aspects of female health including pre-conception and menopausal problems. They will also discuss and fit caps and coils. Normally the initial appointment will be with the practice nurse.

Emergency Contraception
Please phone and ask to speak to the duty doctor or the practice nurse.

Smear Tests
Eligible women will automatically receive an invitation for a smear test when it is due. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse.

If you suffer from any of these conditions we will review your health at regular intervals. However, if you are unwell, please make an appointment in the normal way.

Well-Person Checks & Lifestyle Advice
The practice nurses offer health checks and will discuss and advise on smoking, diet and healthy lifestyle.

Non-NHS Services

Travel Clinic
If you are going abroad we can provide advice and give any immunisations you may need. Please fill in a travel immunisation advice form (at reception) and then ring a few days later to arrange an appointment in our Travel Clinic. There is a charge for most travel vaccinations.
