After listening to your comments from our recent patient survey we are pleased to announce extended hours opening, that we hope will make it easier for those patients who have difficulty attending during the standard working day.
Aston Clinton - Monday & Tuesday evening until 8pm
Bedgrove Surgery - Monday morning from 7.30am & Wednesday evening until 8pm
Wendover Health Centre - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7.40am, Tuesday evening until 8pm & Saturday morning
These appointments are only available to book in advance so please contact your reception.
Appointments
WESTONGROVE OFFER TWO TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS
48 Hour appointments - for those patients who need to see a member of our clinical team quickly within the next 2 days.
Pre-Bookable appointments - for those patients who want to book more than 2 days and up to four weeks ahead.
We provide an open access service, and when you request an appointment we will endeavour to offer you one with a doctor or other appropriate health care professional within 48 hours (2 days). Sometimes the demand for these appointments is high, and we would ask that you contact us as soon as possible within the working day, as these appointments are released in 48 hour blocks. If we are unable to offer you a routine appointment within 48 hours, our reception team will advise you of the alternative options available. If your need is URGENT please let our reception team know.
Should you require an URGENT APPOINTMENT and there are no routine appointments available that day, the receptionist will ask for your contact number and the duty doctor or a practice nurse, or most appropriate healthcare professional , will call you back with advice or a time to come to the surgery. The majority of practice nurse appointments are pre-bookable.
There are also appointments which you may pre-book up to four weeks in advance to see the doctor of your choice (subject to that doctor being available). This option is helpful if you need to plan ahead.
Bedgrove Surgery also provide a Childrens Surgery, Monday to Friday. There is no need to make an appointment, we just ask that the child is booked in at reception by 8.50am. The child will then be seen by a member of our clinical team as soon as possible. This service is for acute ailments, and is not suitable for ongoing problems.
Wendover Health Centre are also piloting a new system so that should you require a same day appointment, the receptionist will ask you for a contact telephone number and a member of the Triage Team will call you back. They will either treat you over the telephone or give you an appointments with the most appropriate member of the clinician team.
Westongrove operates a system called 'Signposting' . This is a software programme used by the reception team that has been written by the Doctors. It points a patient towards the most appropriate member of the clinical team based upon their current ailment / reason for wanting to book an appointment. Therefore when you contact the surgery our reception staff will ask you why you would like to book an appointment and it is most helpful if you can give them a reason.
WE ALSO OFFER AN INTERNET BASED APPOINTMENT BOOKING SYSTEM THAT IS AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY FOR PATIENTS WHO REGISTER TO USE THE SERVICE. PLEASE SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF THE RECEPTION TEAM OR VIEW THE 'ONLINE APPOINTMENTS' TAB ABOVE FOR MORE INFORMATION.
