Antihistamines for Hayfever will not be prescribed by the clinical team. Last year Bucks PCT spent over £500,000 on hayfever medication and would rather use this to fund drugs for chronic conditions such as heart disease or cancer. We are supporting the PCTs decision and WILL NOT be prescribing antihistamines for hayfever sufferers. If you require this medication, you will need to obtain it from your local pharmacy or supermarket, or use one of the online deals available. H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine is advised for travellers to the Southern Hemisphere during their flu season. Please check with our travel nurses. More information can be found under the tab 'Clinics and Services' above.

Please remember that the Dispensary at Wendover Health Centre is open 6.30-8pm on Tuesday and 8.30am-10.30am on Saturday.

Westongrove offer  patients the ability to book an appointment with a GP up to 4 weeks in advance. This means that you can book an appointment more than 2 days in ahead.  We are also making adjustments to the appointment system following patient feedback and will be adding an update regarding this in the very near future. Many thanks to all those who take the time to give us their opinion.

Westongrove also offer  appointments that can be booked for the next 48 hours for those patients who suddenly feel poorly. These appointments will be with the most appropriate member of our clinical team.

The Friends of Bedgrove Surgery hold a monthly coffee morning. Come along and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and catch up with friends. 

The Friends of Wendover Health Centre have recently purchased and organised the installation of new cycle stands which can be found on the right hand side of the building.

 

Due to patient demand from some Aston Clinton Surgery patients, we have now added Lloyds at Jansel Square, Bedgrove as an option when choosing your pharmacy of choice for collection. Please note that if you choose this option your script will take a day or two longer as the scripts will be transported using our internal mail system.

prescriptionsIf you have a regular prescription for the same medicine, please order repeats in plenty of time. Every patient who has medication on repeat prescription is given a review date, which is printed on their repeat slip. The purpose of this is for us to make sure that the medication is still working, that it is not causing any problems, and that it is still needed. It is important for your own wellbeing that you attend for this review.

As part of our commitment to your health, from April 1st 2006, repeat prescriptions will no longer be issued once your review date has passed. Please check your review date and make sure that you make an appointment in good time otherwise your prescription may not be issued.

Westongrove Partnership follow the Buckinghamshire PCT 28 Day Prescribing Policy. The PCT recommends that the usual length of both acute and repeat prescriptions should be 28 days.

Wendover Health Centre are allowed to dispense medication to patients who live further than 1 crow mile from the local pharmacy and Health Centre .These patients are known as 'Dispensing Patients'. Please let the us know if you would like to use this facility. If you live within 1 crow mile of the local pharmacy then we cannot dispense your medication for you.

We are also able to dispense medication to temporary patients. In order to ensure that patients are able to access Health Centre appointments we may register a patient temporarily whilst waiting for proof of identification and address - as such we are able to dispense to the patient. Once this has been obtained we then change the status to permanent, if your address is less than 1 crow mile from the chemist and surgery then we are no longer able to dispense to you. 

When ordering your repeat prescription on line, please only tick the collection from dispensary option if you are a Dispensing Patient. If you would like to reduce your number of visits to the surgery to collect your medication, please ask the Dispensary Staff about our new prescription collection service.

Please allow 48 hours for repeat prescriptions to be completed.

  • Telephoning 01296-624611 with your request. You will be asked to give your details on an answerphone. Please remember to give your name and address as well as the items you need.
  • Leaving your request slip in the repeat prescription boxes available in the reception foyer or the box outside the Dispensary.
  • Post - you will need to supply a stamped addressed envelope.
  • Taking it to Lloyds Pharmacy in Wendover who will deliver it to us.  Please ensure that if you want your prescription to go back to Lloyds Pharmacy, that it is clearly marked on your request slip 
  • If you are a Dispensing Patient, please ask our Dispensary about our repeat prescription service which may help to reduce the number of trips you make to the surgery.
