Dr Anna Milward will be returning to Wendover Health Centre on Monday 9th August following maternity leave. She will be working Monday, Tuesday and alternate Thursday and Friday mornings.

Westongrove offer patients the ability to book an appointment with a GP up to 4 weeks in advance. This means that you can book an appointment more than 2 days in ahead. We are also making adjustments to the appointment system following patient feedback and will be adding an update regarding this in the very near future. Many thanks to all those who take the time to give us their opinion.

Westongrove also offer appointments that can be booked for the next 48 hours for those patients who suddenly feel poorly. These appointments will be with the most appropriate member of our clinical team.

Nurses

Our highly-skilled nursing team works across the three practices and you will be treated by the most appropriately qualified member of the team. Not all problems will require an appointment or home visit and a nurse may be able
to offer advice on treatment by telephone. Our nurses are available for general advice and counselling on health-related and lifestyle topics.

They undertake a wide range of medical tests and patient care activities including
asthma checks, blood tests, dressings, suture removal, blood pressure checks, ear syringing, cervical smears, ECGs (heart tracings), hearing tests etc. This list is by no means exhaustive and, with the ongoing development of nursing skills, is constantly expanding. Their role includes support with family problems.

A Community Midwife holds a weekly antenatal clinic at the surgery.

Community Nurses

District Nurses provide care in the home where necessary; this includes the care of patients with acute or chronic illness, continuing care after hospital discharge, assessment of general health needs including terminal care. The practice is accredited for district nurse and student nurse training.

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with post-registration experience in various nursing fields and further training in community health nursing.
