Introduction

Westongrove PMS Partnership comprises Bedgrove Surgery (BS), Aston Clinton Surgery (ACS) and Wendover Health Centre (WHC).

Our aim is to encourage the good health and well being of our patients by providing the highest standards of healthcare and a diversity of clinics appropriate to the needs of the community. Our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary professional Primary Health Care Team (PHCT) will promote health education and work with patients to achieve a standard of excellence that reflects our commitment to patient care. We shall endeavour to ensure that the service we provide is always delivered by the most appropriate member of our PHCT. By working together, rather than as isolated practices, we believe that we can more readily explore potential opportunities, share good practice and develop innovative ways of providing care across the locality.

Health and Safety

We have a health and safety policy and procedures for the safe handling by all staff of specimens and any spillage of other body fluids.

Training and Professional Development

We have an on-going uni and multi-disciplinary training programme for our PHCT based on a schedule of protected time for learning. All the members of our PHCT have a regular appraisal and a personal development plan. For our doctors this is closely linked to their revalidation and our nurses to their PREP. (Post Registration Education and Practice)

All three practices within Westongrove are accredited GP training practices. By working together it is possible to enhance our training programme by offering wider exposure to different styles of practice and professional expertise.  We also provide training for Enhanced GP Registrars. These are doctors who have completed their additional training and are fully qualified GPs but who have elected to extend their training in order to undertake a time limited specialist project in general practice.

Westongrove holds the contract for Oxford University’s GP tutoring course for graduate entry medical students.
