At Westongrove, caring for the community goes beyond the consultation room. We are proud to support a range of charitable initiatives that reflect our commitment to making a positive impact. This page highlights the causes we support, the activities we take part in, and how together with our patients and team, we’re helping to make a difference.
Shoebox Appeal
At Westongrove, we’re proud to support the Shoebox Appeal, a charitable initiative that brings comfort and joy to those in need. Each year, our practice team comes together to collect and donate a variety of essential items and small gifts, which are then packed into shoeboxes and distributed to individuals and families facing hardship. It’s a small gesture that can make a big difference, and we’re grateful to play a part in spreading kindness and compassion through this meaningful cause.

Parkrun
Westongrove is a Parkrun Practice!
What is Parkun?
It’s a 5k course that happens every Saturday, starting at 9am all across the world, with a tail walker volunteer who brings up the rear. It’s is open to all – sprinters, slow joggers, walkers, walkers with buggies, walkers with kids, and if you don’t fancy actually participating, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer as a marshal along the course pointing people in the right direction and cheering them on, scanning barcodes at the finish line and all sorts of other things.

At Westongrove, we aim to take part in at least one fundraising event each year to support charitable causes. This year, Dr Todd is leading a special initiative for our team to join the Wendover Woods Parkrun on Saturday 5th July. We’ll be participating in the run, volunteering on the day, and setting up a gazebo to promote healthy living. All funds raised will go to Prostate Cancer UK, a charity doing vital work in the fight against prostate cancer.
Christmas Jumper Day!
Each year, our team at Westongrove proudly takes part in Christmas Jumper Day to help raise money for charity. It’s a fun and festive way for us to spread holiday cheer while supporting a good cause. By donning our brightest and silliest jumpers, we aim to raise awareness and funds for those in need. We’re always grateful for the generosity of our patients and community in joining us to make a positive difference during the festive season.
